Cherie Blair: There's a backlash against women

Cherie Blair says there seems to be a "backlash" against the progress of women in politics.

Asked whether sexism had played a role in the US election, she told BBC Newsnight's Evan Davis: "There does appear to be some kind of backlash."

She said "unacceptable" things were being said "by people who frankly should know better".
