Karen Bradley: 'Proud' of our track record in delivering aid

The Culture Secretary Karen Bradley has strongly defended the conservative's commitment to aid spending. Her comments come amid mounting speculation the pledge to spend 0.7% of GDP on aid could be dropped in the Tory manifesto.

The Prime Minister when pressed yesterday refused to commit to keeping the aid pledge. Ms Bradley told the Today programme she was "very proud" of the commitment. She said: "I voted in Parliament for the 0.7%. It is an act of parliament and I am very proud of our track record in delivering aid and helping the most in need."
