Tim Farron: Right to replace control orders

Lib Dem leader Tim Farron has said it was "absolutely not" a mistake to replace terrorism control orders with Terrorism Prevention and Investigation Measures (TPims), insisting they are "far more effective".

Control orders were a form of house arrest, but were significantly more restrictive than TPims.

"Very few of the control orders actually stuck," Mr Farron told the Today programme.
