Online Safety Bill: Tech firms accused of prioritising profits over children
The culture secretary has warned social media firms to act over online material that is harmful to children.
Michelle Donelan said they had a duty of care to children and the government was bringing in a “record-breaking piece of legislation” with its Online Safety Bill.
And she said companies could face “really high” ramifications.
“The deterrent is there," she added.
