Ex-deputy PM Therese Coffey chides Cooper over 'Kigali' government

Therese Coffey was not impressed when the shadow home secretary referred to the Rwandan government by the name of the nation's capital.

The Conservative MP, who served as deputy PM under Liz Truss, was "somewhat astonished" that Yvette Cooper could not, in her words, get the name of the country correct.

Ms Cooper appeared to find Ms Coffey's intervention amusing. The exchange led to a series of social media posts about Ms Coffey not understanding the reference.
