Learning centre ‘completely idiotic idea’ - Holocaust survivor
Plans for a Holocaust memorial and learning centre in a park near Westminster are "contrary to everything sensible" and will serve no purpose, a Commons committee has heard.
Anita Lasker-Wallfisch, a cellist and surviving member of the Women's Orchestra of Auschwitz, asked what a learning centre would achieve.
After she gave evidence to the Holocaust Memorial Bill Select Committee, MP John Stevenson joked that other committee members were “clearly all too terrified” to question her further.
