Diane James 'woman scorned' attack on Suzanne Evans

UKIP's Diane James and Chris Wood discussed the suspension of their former deputy chairman of the party, Suzanne Evans, who has lost a High Court bid to overturn the decision.

Diane James, an MEP claimed it was a case of revenge by the former candidate for the London Assembly, saying: "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned."

She was pressed by presenter Andrew Neil into the reasons for Ms Evans being suspended.

Councillor Wood described Ms Evans - who has now had the backing of more than 1,500 people on a petition - as "one of our greatest assets".

On Wednesday Ms Evans said she was "stunned and distressed" by the suspension, which came after an internal disciplinary meeting found she publicly criticised a fellow candidate and held herself out as a party spokeswoman without authority.
