Robbie Coltrane is honoured at the Scottish Baftas

Actor Robbie Coltrane was honoured for his "outstanding contribution" to film at the Scottish Baftas award ceremony.

The Cracker and Harry Potter actor was one of several celebrities attending the ceremony in Glasgow on Sunday.

Actor and director Peter Mullan picked up two awards for Neds, a film about a teenage boy growing up in 1970s Scotland.

Donkeys was named best feature film while TV programmes Limmy's Show and The Scheme were also honoured.

This year's British Academy Scotland Awards were held after a one year absence.

Peter Mullan collected best director and best writer awards for Neds, after being nominated in four categories.

The 2010 drama Donkeys, about a man's attempts to reunite his estranged family, also netted two awards: best feature and best actor for James Cosmo.

BBC Scotland documentary The Scheme, which follows the lives of six families on an Ayrshire housing estate, was named best factual series.

Limmy's Show beat off competition from Burnistoun and Rab C Nesbitt in the best entertainment programme category.

Jayd Johnson pipped her Field of Blood co-stars Peter Capaldi and Ford Kiernan to take the best TV actor/actress award.

Other winners included Case Histories for best TV drama while the prize for outstanding contribution to broadcasting went to Eileen Gallagher of Shed Productions.

Film fans chose Fast Romance as their favourite Scottish film of the past two years, in an online vote for the Cineworld Audience Award.

The ceremony at the Radisson Blu on Argyle Street was watched by a 500-strong audience and hosted by comedian Kevin Bridges.

Stars attending included actors Richard Wilson and Ewan Bremner, comedians Karen Dunbar and John Sessions and broadcaster Kirsty Young.

Bafta Scotland director Jude MacLaverty said: "We're thrilled to see the British Academy Scotland Awards return for such a fantastic night.

"The strength of nominations in the categories demonstrates the wealth of talent we have within our country.

"The British Academy Scotland Awards has produced some truly deserving winners and my congratulations goes out to them and all the nominees."
