Hospital patient told: 'Blankets are gold dust'

The first minister has promised to investigate why two elderly people were left without blankets during their stay at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley.

Labour leader Johann Lamont had invited Jack Barr and Helen Macbeth into the public gallery for First Minister's Questions in the Scottish Parliament.

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde have apologised to any patients affected by a shortfall in blankets and say there appears to have been some internal operational issues at the RAH.

A review is now under way.
