Johann Lamont defends questioning of universal benefits

The Scottish Labour leader has defended her calls for a public debate on whether benefits such as free prescriptions and the council tax freeze can be afforded.

Addressing Labour's autumn conference Johann Lamont accused Alex Salmond of using free benefits to "build up resentment" in other parts of the UK.
