Glasgow 2014: One year to XX Commonwealth Games

Sir Chris Hoy hosted a 'breakfast of champions', with members of the Scotland team, to mark one year until the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games begin on 23 July 2014.

The Commonwealth Games in Glasgow will be held from 23 July until 3 August 2014. Clyde, the official games mascot, was in the city centre for the event marking one year to go.

The event was held to mark the start of the ticket sales for the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Among the activities was the Glasgow 2014 cycle challenge, where adults cycled 500m and children 250m against the clock. The time to beat was set by Sir Chris Hoy in a gold medal-winning performance.

Sir Chris Hoy signed autographs for people who had gathered for the launch.

Scottish gymnast Daniel Keatings is on the front cover of the official ticketing guide.

Activities kicked off at 07:30 on Glasgow's Buchanan Street.

Soldiers from the Royal Highland Fusiliers marked the milestone of one year to go until the opening of the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

Most of the games will be held at venues in Glasgow. Diving will be held in Edinburgh and the shooting events in Carnoustie.
