Ruth Davidson calls for further education funding
The leader of the Scottish Conservatives has called for an end to SNP "middle-class giveaways" in education at the expense of further education.
First Minister Nicola Sturgeon had earlier laid out her government's priorities for the next five years, putting education and closing the attainment gap at the heart of the programme.
Ruth Davidson welcomed the focus on education but was critical of the proposed named person policy and cuts in further education budgets which, she said, amounted to the sector being treated "as a second-class service in post-16 education".
