Commemorations in France mark Somme centenary

Commemorations have been taking place both in France and Scotland to mark the 100th anniversary of the Battle of the Somme.

The first minister joined other politicians and dignitaries at the site of the battle, to remember those who died in what was the bloodiest day in British military history.
