Residents begin clean-up after 'heartbreaking' storm damage

Families across Scotland have been affected by flooding caused by Storm Babet.

As floodwaters subside in Brechin, Angus, residents have started cleaning up the damage.

Kathleen Taylor, who has lived in her home in Brechin for over 60 years, said she had never seen the water so high.

And in Aberdeenshire, caravan owners spoke of their devastation after their "second homes" were badly damaged.

Jimmy and Jean Ross' property was among dozens at the Dovecot Caravan Park, next to the River North Esk, that were caught up in the extreme flooding.

Alison and Bill MacAskill's caravan was completely destroyed.

"It’s just horrendous," said Alison.
