The stars of much-loved Scottish programmes, Gary Tank Commander and Rab C Nesbitt, are to join forces for a new sitcom.
Greg McHugh and Gregor Fisher will play a father and son duo in the BBC Scotland comedy Only Child.
The show will follow budding author Richard (McHugh), who travels home to north east Scotland to look after his aging and wilful dad Ken (Fisher).
Filming will take place in Glasgow and the north east.
Written by Bryce Hart, Only Child is a fictional comedy from Happy Tramp North, the co-producers of the hit BBC show Guilt.
The programme will feature neighbourly squabbles, domestic and inter-generational differences all told through the lens of Richard and Ken's father-son relationship.
Greg McHugh said: "Bryce Hart has written a truly brilliant show, and I'm utterly thrilled to be a part of it. 'Dream gigs' are often just that...but I've been assured this is real. Yaaaaas!"
McHugh made his name playing the title role in BBC Three's Gary Tank Commander. He has also starred in comedy Fresh Meat and drama The A Word.
Gregor Fisher is best known for his portrayal of the title character in the comedy series Rab C. Nesbitt but has also received credits on the big screen for films such as Love Actually and The Merchant of Venice.
"I'm not really one for giving quotes, but I am very much looking forward to working with young McHugh," he added.
The show will be broadcast on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
Louise Thornton, head of commissioning at BBC Scotland said: "Only Child represents our commitment to developing and delivering high quality content for audiences in Scotland and across the UK.
"Having Gregor Fisher and Greg McHugh playing father and son is a dream and we're so excited to be bringing these two titans of Scottish comedy together, it's a winning combination.
"Bryce has written beautiful scripts full of humour and warmth and we can't wait to see them brought to life by Scotland's finest acting talent."
