Thieves steal ducks in Midlothian

Thieves who stole four pairs of breeding ducks from a pen in Midlothian are being sought by police.

The Khaki Campbell ducks were stolen from a breeding pen in Seafield Road, Bilston, between midday and 1800 BST on Saturday 10 July.

Four male and four female ducks were stolen, which are valued at about £50 each.

Although there were other ducks in the pen, the Khaki Campbell ducks were the only ones taken.

A Lothian and Borders Police spokesman said: "We suspect that these ducks have been stolen for sale, and it is possible the thieves may try to sell them in the Scottish Borders.

"We are appealing for any information that can help reunite them with their owner.

"Anyone who has been offered the ducks for sale, or who has any information that can help lead to their recovery, should get in touch immediately."
