The last Leuchars Airshow has been held at the base in Fife ahead of its transfer to the Army.

Brian Faichney, from Lochgelly, took this photo of the Red Arrows. Only eight Hawks flew as one of the pilots had recently become a father.

Almost 40,000 people were on the base by the time of the Red Arrows flypast in the early afternoon.

Station Commander Air Commodore Gerry Mayhew said the final show underlined the RAF contribution to operations at home and abroad.
