Two men who held up a man in an Edinburgh street with a knife are being sought by police.

The incident happened at about 15:10 on Friday outside the Day 2 Day store on Pennywell Road.

A 45-year-old man was threatened by two men, one of whom was holding a knife, who demanded his wallet.

He then ran off with the man's wallet in the direction of Muirhouse Avenue and officers are now appealing for witnesses.

Both of the suspects are white, between 30-35-years-old, 5ft 10in and of heavy build.

Det Con Peter Lyons, of Police Scotland, said: "Fortunately the victim was uninjured as a result but has been left understandably shaken.

"The area was busy with passing traffic and pedestrians at the time and I am keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or who knows who is responsible.

"Anyone who recognises the description of the suspects or who has information about the incident is asked to contact police immediately."
