The main East Coast railway line has reopened following concerns about a man on the Forth Bridge.

Trains were not allowed to travel between stations at either end of the railway bridge until the man was safely removed.

Police were called to the bridge at about 10:00.

British Transport Police tweeted at 14:44 to say the man "had been removed from harm's way and will be taken to a place of safety".
