A 43-year-old man has died following a road crash in Fife on Monday.

A grey Mazda car collided with the man just after 18:00 on the A911 near Milton Road, in the village of Windygates.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, while the vehicle's driver and passenger were shaken but uninjured.

Police in the area have now appealed for further information from any witnesses who saw the crash, or from any drivers with dash-cam footage.

Road policing Insp James Henry said: "Inquiries into the circumstances of this collision are ongoing, and I would ask anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen the pedestrian or the crash to please contact us, external.

"I would also appeal to anyone with dash-cams or home recording equipment to check their footage for anything that could assist us."

The road was closed until 01:00 on Tuesday to allow an investigation to be carried out.

Officers also thanked passers-by who stopped to help.
