North Lanarkshire Council delays budget cuts meeting

North Lanarkshire Council has postponed a meeting to decide on budget cuts in which £55m savings have to be found.

A special meeting of the authority's policy and resources committee, which had been scheduled for 25 November, will now take place at a later date.

Council leader Jim McCabe said the delay would allow more time to decide on "savings options" after the Scottish government's budget this week.

He said the new meeting would not "be much after" 25 November.
