Man charged with online Neil Lennon 'threats'

A man has appeared in court charged with making online threats aimed at Celtic manager Neil Lennon.

Christopher Hay is accused of posting threatening material on a social networking site.

He appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Tuesday under the new Offensive Behaviour at Football and Threatening Communications Act.

Mr Hay, 21, made no plea or declaration and was released on bail ahead of a further court appearance.

Under section six of the act he is charged with communicating threatening material to another to carry out a violent or reckless act to cause fear or alarm.
