Rescue workers have been at the The Clutha pub in Stockwell Street, Glasgow, the day after a police helicopter crashed into the busy pub.

Eight people have died and 14 are being treated for serious injuries following the incident, which happened at 22:25 GMT on Friday.

A large area of the city centre has been cordoned off as the emergency services deal with the aftermath of the incident.

An investigation has begun into what caused the Eurocopter EC-135 to come down on the pub's roof. The Clutha was reported to be packed at the time.

Scotland's First Minister Alex Salmond said it was a "black day for Scotland".

Glasgow Rangers and Falkirk players observed a minute's silence for the victims before their Scottish Cup match.

All three people inside the helicopter - two police officers and a civilian pilot - died in the crash

Emergency service crews continued working at the scene of the crash on Saturday evening
