Man, 43, arrested after £1.1m of speed seized

A 43-year-old man has been arrested after £1.1m of drugs were found in a van on the M74.

Police Scotland said officers from the organised crime and counter terrorism unit stopped the van at Larkhall, South Lanarkshire, at about 18:00 on Tuesday.

They discovered about 110 kilos of speed - also known as amphetamine sulphate - within the van.

The 43-year-old man who was arrested is expected to appear at Lanark Sheriff Court on Thursday.
