Councillor Jim Logue is set to become the new leader of North Lanarkshire Council
Airdrie Councillor Jim Logue is set to become the new leader of North Lanarkshire Council.
The ruling Labour Group unanimously elected Councillor Logue to replace outgoing council leader Jim McCabe.
His nomination as leader of the council looks set to be approved on 8 March.
Councillor McCabe is one of Scotland's longest-serving council leaders, having held the position in North Lanarkshire since 1998. He announced his intention to step down in January.
