Seven carers charged with threatening and abusive behaviour

Seven carers have been charged with threatening and abusive behaviour at a property in Glasgow.

Catherine Kilcullen, 61, Allison Carr, 51, Dianne McGarr, 47, Julie Rundell, 35, Marie Paterson, 63, Isabella Scott, 66, and Linda Smith, 59 face a total of seven charges.

All the offences are said to have taken place in Barlanark.

Scott, from Springboig, is also charged with assaulting Mary Ann Caldwell by wrapping clothing around her hand.

Scott allegedly "wrapped a vest or similar item" around Ms Caldewell's hand on 2 March and assaulted her.

None of the women were present when the case was called at Glasgow Sheriff Court.

'Disability prejudice'

Rundell, from Bridgeton, Glasgow was represented by Isobel Allan who entered a not guilty plea on her behalf.

The case was continued for Carr, from Sandyhills for four weeks without any plea being entered.

Papers from the court claim that on 23 February, 2015 Kilcullen and McGarr made threatening and abusive remarks at the Garvel Street house.

It is alleged that on 27 February Paterson and Smith made threatening and abusive remarks and behaved in a threatening and abusive manner and attempted to bang a door.

Carr and Paterson are accused of making threatening and abusive remarks on 2 March, 2015 while Kilcullen and Rundell are said to have done the same on 17 March which was aggravated by disability prejudice.

The charges claim McGarr and Rundell carried out an offence on 31 March and that Paterson "on an occasion" between February and April, was verbally abusive.

A trial was set for July for Kilcullen, from Parkhead, McGarr, from Easterhouse, Paterson from Glasgow and Smith from Uddingston.
