Man, 38, in court charged with murder in Dalry

A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of 23-year-old Sean McKay in North Ayrshire on Sunday.

Gavin McVey made no plea during an appearance in private at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court.

The 38-year-old faces a charge of murder after Mr McKay died at the scene following an attack on St Margaret Avenue in Dalry at about 21:00.

Mr McVey was remanded in custody. He is due to appear again within the next eight days.
