In pictures: Graffiti art turns Glasgow into colour explosion

A corner of Glasgow has been transformed into kaleidoscope of colour for the first Yardworks festival since the pandemic.

The festival of street art and graffiti returned to the SWG3 venue transforming the area into an explosion of art.

One of the biggest festivals of its kind in Europe, artists transformed outdoor and inside areas into giant artworks.

Yardworks featured celebrated street art names from around the globe - Zurik, Bublegum and Balstroem painted alongside Scottish artists Smug, Mark Worst and KMG, with debut festival performances from Mr Cenz and Morf.

Rainbow colours covered the entire area of the festival site.

Glasgow's club night for kids and parents, Mini Maneuvers, kept the little ones entertained along with interactive art activities and workshops.

Although some of the artwork is temporary there are permanent pieces for people to enjoy for years to come, with large scale murals in progress in Partick by Molly Hankinson, Mark Worst and Voyder.

Starting from Eastvale Place and winding into SWG3, attendees saw the blank canvas of railway arches, wall space and boards transformed into a riot of colour throughout the weekend.

From small cubes to the entire side of the buildings, Yardworks showed a range of different murals.

A selection of the boards painted will be displayed at the Glasgow University campus and art lovers also had the opportunity to take home one-of-a-kind prints, posters and more from the two galleries at SWG3.

Visitors could watch the street art develop over the course of the weekend.

Since 2017 Yardworks has grown to become one of the key fixtures in a worldwide street arts scene, attracting local and global visitors.
