Police name suspected murder victim found in Ayr flat

Police have named a woman believed to have been murdered at a flat in Ayr.

Susan Turner, 41, was pronounced dead after officers were called to the property in Nursery Hall at 10:15 BST on Monday

Following a post-mortem examination on Tuesday, detectives from Police Scotland's major investigation team confirmed her death was being treated as murder.

The force has urged anyone with information to get in touch, external.

Det Ch Insp Peter Sharp said: "Our thoughts are with Ms Turner's family and friends at this very difficult time.

"We have a dedicated team of officers working on this investigation and extensive enquiries are ongoing at this time.

"Officers are gathering CCTV footage from the surrounding area, and door-to-door inquiries are also being carried out.

"I am keen to speak to anyone with any private CCTV, dashcam, doorbell or any other footage that they think would assist the enquiry."

Ms Turner came from the Whitletts area of Ayr.
