Husband and wife killed in road crash on A85 in Argyll

Police have named a husband and wife who have died in a road crash on the A85 in Argyll.

Martin Cousland, 70, and wife Jo, 69, were in an Audi Q2 that was in a collision with a Ford Mondeo near Dalmally at around 14:00 on Friday

Mr and Mrs Cousland, from Anstruther in Fife, died at the scene.

Three men in the Ford Mondeo were taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment. Medical staff described their condition as stable.

The road was closed for more than eight hours to allow for police investigations.

Sgt Archie McGuire, of the roads policing unit in Campbeltown, said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Mr and Mrs Cousland.

"We are continuing our enquiries and would again appeal to anyone who was in the area and witnessed the crash to contact us., external"
