Four men have appeared in court accused of murdering a Scots tiler in April 2019.

Craig Colquhoun, 37, Joseph McCulloch, 48, Raymond Platt, 54, and Robert Park, 67, allegedly killed Tony Ferns, 33, in Thornliebank, East Renfrewshire.

The case is said to be Police Scotland's only unsolved murder since the old eight-force model was replaced in 2013.

The four men made no plea at a private hearing at Glasgow Sheriff Court.

Tony Ferns was attacked while sitting in his Audi A3 on 18 April 2019.

He managed to drive to his nearby home but died there.

Court papers state that the men "did strike him [Mr Ferns] on the body with a knife or similar instrument and you did murder him." The murder is alleged to have happened on Crebar Street.

Mr Platt and Mr Colquhoun were remanded in custody by Sheriff Stuart Reid.

Mr Park and Mr McCulloch were initially granted bail but remanded pending a Crown appeal.

The men will appear in court again next week.
