Two in hospital after three-car crash on M8

Two people were injured in a three-car collision on the M8 between Glasgow and Edinburgh on Saturday morning.

The crash happened on the eastbound motorway near junction 7a, known as the Shawhead junction.

Traffic backed up as two lanes were closed for more than an hour.

Police Scotland said one man was arrested in connection with the road traffic offence. The casualties have been taken to Wishaw General Hospital.
