NHS Lanarkshire has confirmed it will take part in the inquiry

A fatal accident inquiry (FAI) into the deaths of three babies in Lanarkshire will begin next month.

Leo Lamont, Ellie McCormick and Mirabelle Bosch are all said to have died "in circumstances giving rise to serious public concern".

Leo was born on 15 February 2019, Ellie on 4 March 2019, and Mirabelle on 2 July 2021.

It is not known when or where they died but NHS Lanarkshire has previously said it would take part in the FAI.

The babies' families were represented at Glasgow Sheriff Court where it was stated the inquiry, which has faced a series of delays, will begin on 9 January.

NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde Health Board and the Scottish Ambulance Service will also take part in the FAI.

Sheriff Principal Anwar confirmed it would first look into Mirabelle's death, then Ellie's and finally Leo's, ending on 1 March.

Further dates will be required for submissions.
