A woman is in a serious condition in hospital after a hit-and-run crash with a stolen motorbike in Glasgow.

The 68-year-old pedestrian was hit by a grey Yamaha MT-07 bike on Mosspark Drive, Cardonald, at 20:00 on Hogmanay.

Police said the biker was travelling north to Paisley Road West and made off on foot towards Tealing Avenue. Emergency services took the pedestrian to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

The motorbike was reported stolen from an address in Edinburgh on 19 December.

Police Scotland's Sgt Chris Hoggans said: "There were a number of people in the area and we are keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened, particularly if you have dash-cam footage or private CCTV that could assist with our inquiries.

"It is also vital that we trace the motorbike rider.

"Our investigation so far suggests he made off on foot along Tealing Avenue and onto Bucklaw Gardens so anyone in this area who saw him and where he went is also asked to get in touch., external"
