A Glasgow nightclub has postponed a number of events after a teenager died after attending a rave at the venue.

Police Scotland confirmed an 18-year-old woman became unwell at SWG3 on New Year's Day and was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Officers are looking at drugs as one line of inquiry.

The woman, who has not been named, is the third person to have died after an event at SWG3 in the last four months.

SWG3 closed last weekend as a "mark of respect" and more events have been postponed while a review takes place.

A spokesperson for SWG3 told BBC Scotland News: "Whilst the venue already meets or exceeds all relevant safety and security regulations, we have taken a decision to postpone a number of events during January while we carry out a detailed review of systems and procedures."

In August, Scott Allison and Marcus Dick, both 18 died after attending the same DJ set at SWG3. Their deaths have been treated as drug-related.

The spokesperson previously said it took "significant measures" to prevent drugs entering the venue and every guest was thoroughly searched upon entry by highly-trained, accredited security teams.

The venue did not confirm exactly what events would not go ahead but the Scottish Sun has reported seven techno events are among the cancellations, external.
