Boy, 13, repeatedly stabbed in attack near Glasgow's Queen's Park

A 13-year-old boy is in hospital with serious injuries after being repeatedly stabbed in an attack near Glasgow's Queen's Park.

Emergency services were called to the scene in Queen's Drive, close to its junction with Victoria Road, at about 20:30 on Friday.

The boy was found to have suffered multiple stab wounds.

He was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

A spokesman for the force said inquiries were ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the attack and urged anyone with information to get in touch., external

Det Sgt Stephen Palmer said: "Officers are gathering CCTV footage from the surrounding area and door-to-door inquiries are also being carried out.

"We will have a continued police presence in the area and anyone with any concerns can approach these officers.

"I would like to reassure the community that officers are working to trace whoever is responsible."

He added: "We believe the area was busy at the time and I am keen to speak to anyone with any private CCTV, dashcam, doorbell, or any other footage that they think would assist the inquiry."
