BT apologises to Scottish customers over slow broadband
- Published
BT has said its broadband services in the north of Scotland were disrupted at the end of last week.
The company has apologised and said its engineers resolved the problem by replacing equipment at its Inverness exchange.
Customers from Shetland, Easter Ross, Aviemore and Elgin posted messages on BT's Care Community forum about slow speeds last week.
BT said the service degraded on Thursday and was restored on Saturday.
A spokesman apologised to customers inconvenienced by slower than normal speeds.
He said no alarms were triggered on its systems because it was not a fully blown fault and many people were still able to access the internet.
