Western Isles school closure challenge has 'legal basis'
- Published
Western Isles council could pursue a legal challenge to it being refused permission by the Scottish government to make changes at four schools.
Comhairle nan Eilean Siar wants to close schools at Carloway and Seilebost and end S1/2 education at Shawbost and Lionel.
The comhairle said its QC has advised that there was "legal basis" to a judicial review being sought.
The local authority will hold fresh talks with government lawyers first.
