Tributes have been paid to a 23-year-old Inverness footballer who died at the weekend after battling lung cancer.
Simon Shields played for Fort William before joining his home club, Clachnacuddin, last summer.
He was diagnosed with the disease late in 2010 and died on Friday at the Highland Hospice.
News of his death was announced at the Highland League Football Awards Dinner on Friday and as a mark of respect there was a one-minute applause.
