Cairngorms kilted ski and torchlit descent postponed

Events to help mark the 50th anniversary of mechanised ski uplift in the Cairngorms have been cancelled due to a lack of snow.

Staff at the CairnGorm Mountain resort said snow was restricted to its upper bowls.

A mass descent by skiers and snowboarders wearing kilts and also a torchlit event have been delayed until there is more snow at lower levels.

CairnGorm Mountain said falling temperatures have been forecast.

The events had been planned for Saturday.
