A new route linking Inverness and Amsterdam has helped Highlands and Islands Airports Ltd record continued growth in passenger numbers.

Figures for last month show overall numbers across the Hial group rose by 4.1% to 98,109 passengers.

Hial operates 11 airports across Scotland.

Inverness, Islay, Stornoway, Sumburgh, Tiree and Wick reported rises but numbers fell at Barra, Benbecula, Campbeltown, Dundee and Kirkwall.

Flights between Inverness and Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport started in September last year.
