In pictures: Glasgow's Harris Tweed bike ride
In September, The Harris Tweed Ride was held for a second year in Glasgow. Harris Tweed enthusiast Michael Aldridge, a 27-year-old product design engineer, captured scenes from the event on his camera
The ride brought together enthusiasts of Harris Tweed, a cloth that is hand woven on the Western Isles
The ride covered a 10-mile (16km) route, with regular breaks for food and drink
The Glasgow ride is similar to events held by fans of Harris Tweed in other cities, including New York and Tokyo
Bicycles of all shapes and sizes were used for the trip around the city
The annual ride has come at a time of when the industry has "re-energised" itself according to the Harris Tweed Authority
Production of the cloth is expected to reach a million metres this year
Harris Tweed is being used in hats and even in the making of head phones for listening to music, however, the Harris Tweed Authority said the mainstay of the industry was the making of jackets
Dora Hetherington, 24, brand manager of clothing collection Tartan Spirit and a tweed ride participant, said last month's event brought together a diverse range of Harris Tweed enthusiasts
