New campaign backs Skye passenger services

  • Published

A new campaign backing the restoration of air services to and from Skye will be formally launched this week.

A group called FlySkye wants to see the return of passenger services from Ashaig Airfield.

Loganair flew out of Ashaig until 1988. The strip continues to be available for use by the emergency services and the military.

Highland Council and public agencies are examining the possibility of resuming services.

However, FlySkye argues that the demand is already there from islanders and businesses.
