Businesses secure Scottish government grants

A company planning to build a new distillery on the Western Isles is among businesses to be awarded grants from the Scottish government.
North Uist-based Isle of Harris Distillers Ltd, which want to build on a site at Tarbert in Harris, has been awarded £1.9m.
Findlater's Fine Foods in Linlithgow has secured £156,238 to upgrade its site and buy new equipment.
TM Fresh Direct in Carfin has won £107,816 for a new processing factory.
Struan Apiaries in Conon Bridge has been awarded £63,698 to upgrade its facilities and Paisley's Sandyford Abattoir £27,187 to help fund improvements.
The businesses were awarded the money from the Food Processing, Marketing and Co-operation grant scheme.
Under the government's Marketing Development Scheme, Charcuterie Continental from Twechar has received £148,280 and Peter Equi of Hamilton £94,600.
