No council objection to SSE's Stronelairg wind farm

Highland councillors have voted 11 to three in favour of raising no objection to a proposed 67-turbine wind farm.
SSE Renewables had sought permission for up to 83 turbines at Stronelairg near its Glendoe hydro electric scheme above Fort Augustus.
Highland Council officials had recommended that councillors did not oppose the project, if certain planning conditions were agreed.
These included reducing the number of turbines to 67.
Councillors made a visit to the site before debating the proposal during a meeting of the south planning applications committee on Monday.
The John Muir Trust and Mountaineering Council of Scotland had urged councillors to raise an objection.
Scottish ministers will have the final say on the proposals.
