Inverness food waste collections to start in September

Waste food will be used to make compost
Food waste collections are expected to start in Inverness from 23 September, Highland Council has said.
About 28,000 households in Inverness, Culloden, Smithton, Balloch and Milton of Leys will be involved.
From 9 September, households will be supplied with a small bin to keep in their home and a 23 litre bin to put at kerbsides for collection.
The local authority received almost £1m from the Scottish government to rollout the new waste collection.
Inverness will be the only place in the Highlands to have waste food collected. The waste will be used for making compost.
In a report to councillors, Highland Council officials said the new service will create 10 new jobs - five drivers and five loaders.
Collections from businesses will start next year.
