RockNess took place in the Highlands at the weekend. Images by photographer Paul Campbell and the BBC's Highlands and Islands reporter Steven McKenzie.

The festival is held at Dores on the shores of Loch Ness in the Great Glen near Inverness.

Up to 30,000 people are thought to have turned out over the festival's three days.

Early on Saturday morning an army of volunteers and staff complete a clean up in front of the main stage following Friday's opening night.

American DJ Steve Aoki was among the headline acts on Saturday. His performances often involve throwing cakes into his audience.

The chosen recipient of the DJ's RockNess "caking" seemed more than happy to take the cake full in the face.

DJ Fatboy Slim, now a veteran RockNess headliner, was also a feature of Saturday's line-up.

Fatboy Slim, aka Norman Cook, was the headline performer at the first festival in 2006 and played at the event in 2011.

Suggs, lead singer of the band Madness, takes to the stage on Sunday evening.

Since being formed in the late 1970s, Madness do not appear to have lost their appeal more than 30 years later.

Singer Plan B also performed on the last night of RockNess.

This year's festival benefited from sunshine during the day and dry, clear nights.
