Two proposed wind farms in Caithness have been recommended for approval by officials at Highland Council.

Scottish Power Renewables wants to build 15 wind turbines on a site about 10 miles (16km) south of Thurso.

RWE Npower Renewables is proposing a 13 turbine development on land just south of the existing Causeymire wind farm.

Highland Council's north planning applications committee will consider the plans at a meeting in Inverness on Tuesday.
