Section of spy plane moved to Culloden Battlefield

The section of aircraft is owned by a Moray-based aviation tourism project

Part of the fuselage of a former RAF surveillance aircraft has been temporarily moved to a historic battlefield near Inverness.

The front section of the Nimrod has been installed at Culloden Battlefield as part of a Homecoming Scotland 2014 event at the site this weekend.

Gaelic's Blas Festival, the National Trust for Scotland (NTS) and Highland and Moray councils are involved.

The Nimrod is owned by the Morayvia aviation tourism project.

Taking place on Saturday and Sunday, the Culloden Homecoming also forms part of the My Heart's in the Highlands celebrations.

Jacobite and British government forces clashed at Culloden in April 1746. The site is managed by NTS.
