Balloch woman dropped baby head first onto pavement

A woman who dropped a baby head first onto a pavement while she was drunk has been ordered to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work.
Rachel McIntyre, of Balloch, near Inverness, was looking after the four month old child in June last year when the incident occurred.
The former nurse had been holding the baby by its ankles over her shoulder.
Inverness Sheriff Court heard that the child, who suffered a fracture to its skull, has made a full recovery.
McIntyre had earlier admitted to wilful ill-treatment of the child while under the influence of alcohol on Lawers Way in Inverness on 16 June.
